Belle Belgique: Antwerp

Hier beginnt nun der zweite Teil meines Belgien-Berichts, indem ich euch ein paar Eindrücke von Antwerpen zeigen möchte. Freitag Abend kamen wir im Hotel Lindner in Antwerpen an. Nach einer kurzen Zimmerbesichtigung gönnten wir uns etwas Wellness im Saunabereich und ließen danach den wunderschönen Tag mit einer leckeren Käseplatte ausklingen...

Here is where the second part of my short Belgium report starts and where I want to show you some impressions of Antwerp. Friday evening we arrived the Lindner hotel. After viewing our beautiful room we relaxed in the sauna and then had a delicious cheese dinner in bed...

 

In meinem letzten Post habe ich euch ja erzählt, dass ich mir in Gent etwas gekauft habe... Diese wunderbaren Masken, die mein Freund und ich sofort anprobiert haben! :)

In my last post I told you, I had bought something in Ghent... These wonderful masks that my boyfriend and I had to try on the same night! :)

Am nächsten Morgen sind wir dann los, um die Stadt zu erkunden. Der Hauptbahnhof war unsere erste Station, er ist wirklich sehenswert. Von da aus ging es ins jüdische Diamantenviertel und weiter zum historischen Zentrum...

The next morning we set off for the city. The central station was our first stop because it's absolutely worth seeing. From there it was only a short walk to the Jewish diamond district and then to the historical center...

Unterwegs haben wir einen Schokoladen-Laden entdeckt, wie ich ihn mir immer erträumt habe:

Da leider Sonntag war hatten die meisten Geschäfte allerdings geschlossen. So auch Karen Millen, eines meiner Lieblings-Labels, und der Flagship Store von Dries van Noten, den ich unheimlich gerne besucht hätte...

As it was Sunday, most of the stores were closed. Such as one of my favorite labels, Karen Millen, and the flagship store of Dries van Noten that I would have liked to visit SO MUCH...

In der Nationalestraat, wo die Geschäfte der berühmten "Sechs aus Antwerpen" sind, befindet sich auch das Modemuseum und ein fantastischer Buchladen, in dem man alles zum Thema Mode, Design, Kunst und Architektur findet.

In the Nationalestraat, where the stores of the famous "Six of Antwerp" are, you can find the fashion museum as well as a fantastic book store with everything about fashion, design, art and architecture.

Nach einer kleinen Kaffeepause sind wir noch zum Rubenshaus gegangen und sind noch ein wenig durch die umliegenden Straßen geschlendert.

After a short coffee break we went to the house of Rubens and strolled through the nearby alleys.

Gegen Abend mussten wir uns dann leider wieder auf den Weg nach Hause machen... Gent und Antwerpen haben uns beide sehr gefallen und wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Aber unser nächstes Reiseziel ist erstmal ein anderes... ;)

Towards evening we had to hit the road again... We absolutely loved Ghent and Antwerp and we are going to come back for sure! But our next destination will be another... ;)
