Während meines Modemasters habe ich einiges an Büchern über die Mode angesammelt. Einige meiner Schätze habe ich noch immer in Spanien, aber die wichtigsten habe ich hier bei mir, so dass ich immer darin stöbern kann wann mir danach ist... :)

During my postgraduate studies in fashion and beauty I bought a lot of books about fashion. Some of these treasures are still in Spain (don't worry my dear books, I'll come to pick you up soon!!) but my favorite darlings are here with me. Every time I want to know something special about fashion history or something I can grab one and rummage in them... :)

• Der heißeste Tipp aller Fashion-Insider und ein Must Have während des Master: "Fashion" vom Verlag Taschen. Die Geschichte der Mode vom 18. bis zum 21. Jahrhundert wird anhand zahlreicher Fotografien aus dem Kyoto Costume Institute aus soziologischen, historischen und künstlerischen Gesichtspunkten heraus analisiert. Ca. 40 €, zum Beispiel hier.
• The ultimate tip from fashion insiders and a must-have during my postgraduate studies: "Fashion" by publisher Taschen. The history of fashion from 18th to 21st Century is being analized from a sociological, historical and artistic point-of-view. Great photographies of the Kyoto Costume Institute. About 40€, for example here.

• "My Wonderful World of Fashion: A Book for Drawing, Creating and Dreaming" von Nina Chakrabart (Laurence King Publisher). Ich liebe dieses Buch!! Ich habe es bei einem meiner Shoppingrouten durch Madrid entdeckt und musste es sofort haben. Da ich sehr gerne male und zeichne war es genau das richtige für mich um mir ganze Nachmittage zu vertreiben. Ca. 16 €, zum Beispiel hier oder bei Amazon.
• "My Wonderful World of Fashion: A Book for Drawing, Creating and Dreaming" by Nina Chakrabart (Laurence King Publisher). I looove this book! I discovered it on one of my shopping tours throgh Madrid and I just HAD to have it. I can spend whole aftrenoons with it because I am so much into drawing and painting... About 16€, for example here or at Amazon.

• "Mi Color PERFECTO" in meiner spanischen Version, sonst "Colour Me Confident: Change Your Look - Change Your Life!" von Veronique Henderson und Pat Henshaw (Hamlyn). Eine der Stylistinnen der Vogue empfahl uns dieses Buch. Sie hat es immer dabei und es hilft ihr sehr bei der Arbeit. Sehr interessant, wenn man wissen möchte, welcher Typ Frau man ist und welche Farben bzw. Schnitte einem besonders gut stehen...und welche nicht! Ca. 19 €, zum Beispiel hier.
• "Mi Color PERFECTO" in my Spanish version, or "Colour Me Confident: Change Your Look - Change Your Life!" in English, by Veronique Henderson and Pat Henshaw (Hamlyn). One of Vogue's stylists recommended this book to us. She always got this in her bag and it is great help for her work. Interesting if you want to know which woman type you are and which colours and cuts fit you....and which don't!  About 19 €, for example  here.

• "Mode heute" von Terry Jones und Susie Rushton (Taschen). Auch das habe ich mal von einer Freundin geschenkt bekommen und es hat sich während des Masters als große Hilfe bewiesen. Über 90 Designer von A bis Z (inkl. Nachwuchstalente) werden in Interviews, anhand biografische Angaben und aktueller Modeaufnahmen von Starfotografen  vorgestellt. Ca. 8 €, zum Beispiel hier.
• "Fashion Now" by Terry Jones and Susie Rushton (Taschen). I got this ofrom a good friend of mine, too and it was great help during my studies. Over 90 designers from a to z (including emerging talents) are introduced by interviews,  biographical data and current fashion photographies of star photographers. About 8 €, for example  here.

• "El vestido moderno y contemporaneo" von Michele Beaulieu (Oikos-Tau). Das ist ein etwas älteres Buch und ich habe es auch leider nur auf spanisch und französisch gefunden. Aber wer eine dieser Sprachen beherrscht, dem sei dies als Lexikon der Mode empfohlen. Eine Reise durch die Kleider der letzten Dekaden. Ca. 17 €, zum Beispiel hier.
• "El vestido moderno y contemporaneo" by Michele Beaulieu (Oikos-Tau). It's a little bit older than the other books and I only found it in Spanish and French. But if you understand one of those languages it is really interesting to get a historical fashion overview over the last decades. About 17 €, for example here.

• Ok, das ist kein Buch aber immerhin eine DVD, falls ihr mal etwas anderes als lesen möchtet. Ich habe die DVD Box zu Weihnachten von meiner Mutter geschenkt bekommen und darauf sind alle Modeschauen Herbst Winter 2010/2011 zu sehen. Natürlich hatte ich die meisten schon  gesehen aber so habe ich sie alle in meinem Regal und kann sie mir - ohne lästiges Suchen nach guter Qualität im Internet - immer wieder angucken.  Ca. 15 €, zum Beispiel hier.
• Ok, so this is not a book but it's a DVD. Great if you want to do something else than reading. I got this DVD box from my mom as a Christmas present and it comes with 4 DVDs and alle the fashion shows fall-winter 2010/2011. Of course I had already seen most of them but now I can always watch them again without searching in the internet for good quality videos. About 15 €, for example here.
