Das fabelhafte Viertel von Amélie / The Fabulous Quarter of Amélie Poulain

Erinnert ihr euch an die Szene in "Sabrina", in der Audrey Hepburn eine Zeit in Paris verbringt und abends an ihrem Schreibtisch sitzt, durch das Fenster sieht man Sacré-Cœur in all seiner Pracht und von den Straßen ertönt die Melodie von "La Vie en Rose"? Mit diesem Bild im Hinterkopf begab ich mich am Freitag ins Viertel Montmartre, unser erstes Ziel in Paris. Da wir Paris schon kannten, haben wir uns dieses Mal entschlossen nur die Teile von Paris zu besuchen, die uns besonders gut gefallen und so hatten wir genug Zeit, um den Nachmittag durch das belebte Künstlerviertel zu schlendern und das Wetter sowie die Atmosphäre zu genießen. Eines unserer Ziele war das Café in dem Amélie Poulain in "Die fabelhafte Welt von Amélie" arbeitet: "Café des 2 Moulins". Ich muss gestehen, ein bisschen enttäuscht war ich schon. Es gibt nicht viel, das an den Film erinnert. Die Glasscheibe, auf die Amélie schreibt, ist weg, ebenso wie der Tabakladen im Café. Lediglich ein großes Filmplakat zeigt Audrey Tautou alias Amélie.

      Do you remember the scene in the movie "Sabrina", when Audrey Hepburn spent a time in Paris and in the evening she sits at her desk, you can see Sacré-Cœur in all its splendour through the window and hear the sounds of "La Vie en Rose" from the streets? That is exactly what I thought about when I went to Montmartre on Friday, our first destination in Paris. Since we both already knew Paris we decided to visit only the parts of the city that we like the most and so we had enough time to stroll through the lively artists' quarter, enjoying the sun and the atmosphere. One of our destinations was the café where Amélie Poulain works in the movie "Amélie":  The "Café des 2 Moulins". I must say, I was a bit disappointed. There is not much that reminds visitors of the French movie. The glass plate where Amélie writes the menue on in the movie is not there anymore, as well as the tobacco store inside the café. Only a big film poster shows Audrey Tautou alias Amélie.
